Meet About Contrasts from Oslo. On Tordenskiolds gate it is a café and brunch spot by day and a story-driven cocktail bar by night, built on a concept that brings the best of East and West together through a Nordic lens. The coffee is developed with Fuglen, and at brunch the cocktail trolley comes to the table.
The evening menu, “Proverbs”, has twelve cocktails built on Norwegian and international sayings, such as “there is no bad weather, only bad clothes”, and was nominated for Norway’s best cocktail menu. Sharing plates such as house-made gyoza come with the drinks, while funk, jazz and soul from the 60s, 70s and 80s fill the room, sometimes with live piano. The bar works closely with local artists and producers, from ice harvested on frozen Norwegian lakes to produce from Skott Gård. The team is led by Adrian Michalcik, World Class Bartender of the Year 2022.
